The wonders of Pomegranate juice

Ever heard of the wonders of Pure Natural Pomegranate Juice?…

It has been used since ancient times as medicine for people. It even has a higher anti-oxidant count than green tea or red wine, meaning it’s a more potent detoxer for the body. (1)

Here are some of it’s great benefits.

Pomegranate juice:

  • promotes cardiovascular health, like lowering high blood pressure and cholesterol (2)
  • improves mood (3)
  • is anti-cancer (4)
  • improves osteoarthritis (5)
  • speeds up wound healing, as well as collagen formation (6)
  • anti-bacterial (7)
  • improves insulin sensitivity (8)

Some other benefits to elaborate on…

Lowers cortisol

Pomegranate juice is rich in polyphenolic antioxidants which inhibit the enzyme (11β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1) in adipose tissue that converts cortisone to cortisol. So drinking pomegranate juice will lower cortisol levels. (9, 10)

High cortisol is associated with low testosterone, so it’s always wise to keep cortisol low (11). More on lowering cortisol here

Increases testosterone

Apart from the fact that your testosterone will be higher due to lower cortisol, pomegranate juice further increases testosterone levels.

In this study (12) it shows that the consumption of pomegranate juice for two weeks increased men’s testosterone by an average of 24%.

Pomegranate juice is well rich in anti-oxidant levels which protects testosterone from oxidative stress (13).

Enhances exercise performance

Pomegranate juice has an acute ergogenic effect on resistance training and aerobic exercise. Ingestion of pomegranate juice reduces muscle soreness and muscle weakness post-workout, as well as increases strength (14).

This study also shows that the ingestion of pomegranate juice for 9 days reduces DOMS significantly (15).

Pomegranate juice increase nitric oxide which increases blood flow to the muscle. This allows for more oxygen to be transported to the muscles, enhances sub-maximal intensity training and delays fatigue (16).

Increase vascularity

Pomegranate juice also increases blood flow and vascularity due to its high nitrate content (17). Just be sure to get your pomegranate juice from non-concentrate sources, that are not heat treated, else it might not have all the benefits. (18)

If you’re looking for something to drink with absolutely no negative or side effects, this is the way to go.

Just make sure to get the real natural, pure organic pomegranate juice, which is not from concentrate, without preservatives and additives and such.
