The first one is in rats and they found that exposing rats to vaping smoke significantly reduced their testosterone (R). Interestingly, nicotine-free vape was the worse of the bunch (-50% vs -30% for the nicotine vape).
The mechanism of how vaping likely lowers testosterone is by causing oxidative stress and lowering 3 main steroidogenic enzymes, namely cytochrome P450scc, 3β-HSD and 17β-HSD (R).
